Corporate and Group HireSo, you want to drive a REAL racing car? Well, you've come to the right place!
Legends Race Hire run 5 of the famous LEGENDS CARS. These actual cars compete in the BRSCC Legends Cars Championship, racing in England, Scotland and Wales, and the new Scottish SMRC Championship. You'll be driving a real, competitive racing car, not some tired old former racer that's been put out to pasture. In 1999, the Old Spice Championship was the fastest growing championship in the UK ever without a manufacturer's backing, and continued to grow throughout 2000. There is no shortage of interest for this championship, and racing car hire is the ideal way of 'trying before you buy'.
What is a Legends Car?
All cars run to an international set of rules - engine tuning is not allowed, a Legends-Edition BF Goodridge treaded tyre must be used, and regulations are strictly enforced.
What is a Legend Like to Drive?Unique, exciting, massive fun. Firstly, the car is very short and very wide. It's also very light, so the power-to-weight ratio is around 200bhp/tonne. The tyres are of a hard compound, so you have relatively low grip for a racing car. The result - manic acceleration and lots of opposite-lock. Because of the low grip and locked rear axle you drive the car in a semi-permanent power-slide. Unlike a car running on slicks, you don't scrub speed when you go sideways, so this is the fastest way to drive one. It's also the most fun!
What is a Legends Car Like to Race?Driving a Legend on its own is tremendous fun - racing one is something else altogether. The majority of Legends drivers come from the Ovals and think nothing of running two and three abreast where most racers would be running line-astern. The racing is hard but fair, and you race three times every meeting.
Hiring a Legends CarOur cars are available for Corporate and Group bookings at Knockhill circuit. You don't need a racing licence, just a road licence (and a strong nerve!). Alternatively, if you are in possession of a racing licence the same cars are available for:
You can hire a car for a single meeting, or a complete season. The SMRC Championship takes place at Knockhill, whereas the BRSCC Championship visits circuits all around the UK. All you need is a National 'B' licence.
